- As a Security Shift Leader, you will report directly to the Security Manager, and assist in the execution and supervision of all security and safety measures throughout the resort. You will ensure the resort's physical security and safety for guests, colleagues, visitors and the resort’s assets, and supervise all Security Officers. You will ensure all matters are escalated to the appropriate levels of management based on their seriousness and potential impact on the resort’s safety, security and reputation.
- You are expected to strictly operate in full compliance with Regent’s brand standards, IHG’s brand safety standards, IHG’s corporate and functional strategies, global policies and procedures, local laws and regulations, and in with the expectations of the resort’s owning company.
- It is your responsibility to familiarize and train all Security Officers in all procedures for the resort’s emergency preparedness and response, accident and incident management, including the resort’s fire emergency and evacuation plan. You will assist in the planning and execution of regular evacuation drills and help to carry out regular risk assessments to ensure the resort is well prepared for an ever-changing set of risks.
- Your watchful eye and protective instinct will create a safe and secure environment that is conducive to achieving the highest levels of guest satisfaction. You will be required to carry out full investigations, gather evidence, facilitate interviews with relevant parties and audit the resort to ensure safety and security compliance.
- You will help to operate the resort’s surveillance infrastructure and access control systems, including both physical and electronic/digital access credentials. You will supervise all physical keys and ensure all Officers take access control seriously.
- You will look after all lost property, including registration of found items, and safe and secure storage within the limits described in the resort’s lost property policy. You will also supervise the return of lost property to the lawful owner, the finder or the state. When necessary you will also assist the Security Manager to co-ordinate destruction and disposal of unclaimed lost property.
- You will assist to conduct daily pre-shift briefings, ensuring that all Officers are fully updated with all relevant information, and they are knowledgeable about the resort as well as the local destination before they start their shift.
- You will inspect all Officers on duty to ensure that they are always well groomed, the security operation runs smoothly and in compliance with the resort's standards and policies. If you discover inappropriate behaviour, you apply counsel and discipline as necessary using corrective and constructive methods. You will set a positive example for your Security Officers when you interact with guests. Your proactively approach guests when you sense they are looking for help, but remain your charm and unique style. You inspire your team to become a team of impeccably professional, confident, efficient and reassuring Security Officers.
- You will monitor the resort premises throughout the shift, and identify safety and security risks that become apparent. You must ensure that routine hotel patrols include fire safety related matters, and ensure fire doors are not obstructed and that staircases and emergency exits are available for free passage.
- You ensure that all critical areas of the resort are appropriately managed and adapt according to instructions you receive throughout the shift. You will actively monitor video surveillance and patrol the resort by foot frequently to ensure that manpower is deployed according to current risk and activity levels and to be able to guarantee an immediate response to abnormalities, suspicious situations and disorder. You keep refreshing yourself as well as all Officers with all emergency contingency plans, policies and procedures, manuals, and the roles and responsibilities of the Emergency Response Team (ERT).
- You will be the first responder when an accident or incident happens in the resort, thus you must ensure immediate scene protection to protect any evidence found at the scene and to ensure the reputation of the resort is upheld. You will have to be able to identify victims or witnesses quickly, administer first aid, offer victim support, obtain their particulars. If necessary, you will take immediate photographic evidence. Finally, you will pass full and accurate information to the Security Manager in order to generate a full incident report.
- You will be responsible for the accuracy of the daily shift reports. You will generate detailed and concise reports of routine occurrences and ensure that all documentation, reports, etc. are accurately filed according to Security Manager Instructions
- You will facilitate effective and reliable communication flow across the shift, and ensure that all intelligence, information and developments are efficiently and accurately exchanged throughout the department. You escalate all risks to the Security Manager or higher levels of management, when required. You will liaise with all other departments, and maintain a harmonious working flow to ensure that all security issues are resolved in a timely manner.
- You will be responsible for the execution of infectious disease prevention measures at the colleague entrance as well as the main resort entrance. The registration of colleagues, visitors and contractors at the colleague entrance including and bag searches and locker searches will also be supervised by you. Managing access of guests and visitors to the resort will fall under your responsibilities, too.
- You will assist the Security Manager to manage all lost property found within the premises of the resort, and ensure all such property is correctly logged and stored safely and securely in your shift.
- During your shift, you will distribute manpower resources efficiently and effectively in order to ensure the operation does not affect by meal breaks or unexpected operational demands. You regularly check with the department’s administrator to ensure accurate records of disciplinary actions, up-to-date absence records are available.
- You will assist the Security Manager to generate monthly duty rosters. You are the one who works closely with your security officers every day, therefore your opinions on shift assignment are very important to exploit the strengths of each colleague, improve their weakness and avoid potential conflicts within the department.
- You will be responsible for the performance management of new colleagues. Therefore, you must ensure that new officers are strictly supervised and correctly coached according to the resort standards. You will provide to the Security Manager objective reports on the development and training progress of new colleagues. You will assist the Security Manager to improve the performance of your team by observing constantly on individual performance and offer guidance and assistance when necessary to your colleagues.
- You enjoy watching your colleagues develop day by day and keep the Security Manager updated. You will practice and promote open, caring, and collaborative communication between all colleagues. You assist the Security Manager to build a strong working environment by supervise your officers with fairness and respect, recognise their personal achievements and orient new colleagues to fit the Regent people attributes.
