Supervise and inspect the work of laundry staff to ensure a high level of quality and productivity. Clean and store hotel linens/uniforms in a timely, organized manner to ensure that hotel’s laundry and linen needs are met.
YOUR DAY-TO-DAY
People
- Direct/Manage everyday activity, plan and assign work ensuring you always have the right staffing numbers
- Develop your team and improve their performance through coaching and feedback, and create performance and development goals for colleagues
- Train colleagues to make sure they deliver with compliance and to the standards we expect
- Drive a great working environment for teams to thrive - linking up departments to create sense of one team
- Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments
- Recommend or initiate any HR related actions where needed
- Solve employee grievances
- Direct task allocations and change according to volume and peak periods
- Liaise with Housekeeping for guest and hotel requirements
- Ensure consistency within the department
- Conducts shift briefings to ensure hotel activities and operational requirements are known
- Proactively greet, interact, and assist hotel & residences staff in a professional manner to foster and promote a cooperative and harmonious work environment, thank them when they lend assistance.
- Help create the department’s annual budget and the setting of departmental goals
- Monitor budget and control expenses with a focus on cleaning liquids, chemical substance, equipment, and labour costs….
- Operate smooth, efficient, cost effective operation; including labor management, supervision of all aspects of services and inventory control
- Perform quality inspections
- Prioritize VIP or difficult guests
- Ensure laundry valet is processed carefully and packed & delivered in a timely manner as per Brand standards
- Manage all special requests made by guests
- Ensure quality check of finished linens , staff uniforms and guest laundry are done before delivery.
- Maintain adequate stock levels of Guest laundry collaterals , Laundry accessories and chemicals
- Respond to and resolve guest and/or employee complaints in a timely manner and creatively solve problems with the ability to anticipate, recognize, evaluate, and resolve potential difficulties
- Ensure linens from outside clients are picked up and delivered on time as per contract.
- Oversee the implementation of laundry standards and procedures
- Recommended changes to these standards and training needs on an ongoing basis
- Maintain a current and thorough knowledge of all laundry systems
- Distribution and collection of keys
- Management of all incoming and outgoing calls to Laundry Department
- Co-ordinate special projects (eg equipment routine service; stock inventories)
- Supervise laundry storage areas
- Complete stock takes as required
- Maintain stock levels
- Be responsible in keeping our property safe and secure, to participate in any hotel activity related to Fire Life safety.
- Assist in Laundry administration work such as laundry report , training reports , roster , updating reports of outside clients , bill posting etc
- Ensure adhering to company’s personal grooming standards.
- Assist coordinating with Engineering on repairs and maintenance of equipment.
- Assist during linen inventory.
- Be responsible in keeping our property safe and secure, to participate in any hotel activity related to Fire Life safety.
- Other ad-hoc duties – unexpected moments when we have to pull together to get a task done
- May assist with other duties as assigned by management

1. Education: High School or Diploma in Hotel Administration, Hotel Management or equivalent

2. Experience:
- 2 years laundry experience preferably in a hotel of similar size and complexity and including supervisory experience or training.
- Type and level of experience required may vary slightly based on size and complexity of operation
- Communication skills are utilized a significant amount of time when interacting with others; demonstrated ability to interact with customers, employees and third parties that reflects highly on the hotel, the brand and the Company
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office
- Organizational and training abilities
4. Language:Able to speak, read and write English
