MAIN SCOPE AND PURPOSE:
- In depth knowledge of the domestic travel, events and tours market. Carry out regional marketing sales actions, communication, advertising, public relations, in-hostel events marketing materials, and collaboration with operations and other departments to effectively implement the necessary measures to meet departmental targets in line with the overall creative vision.
- Act on behalf of Mad Monkey to communicate the brand values defined through all forms of sensory marketing both internally to the team, and externally to our customers.
- Implement a strong purpose driven work ethic in line with the strategic direction of The Marketing Department.
- Drive creativity for Mad Monkey and lead by example by ensuring Mad Monkey core values; Curiosity, Positivity, Courage, Sincerity and family spirit have visibility within the business.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work in conjunction with the department lead and other relevant team members to develop a region relevant marketing plan for the hostels that underpins the annual budget goals & creative vision.
- Implement global marketing and communications strategy in your region.
- Work with Operations, HR and Experience in all facets to communicate and deliver the creative materials needed for said goals and vision.
- Take part in all weekly briefings, both with the Sales & Marketing team as well as regional cross-disciplinary calls to discuss objectives, campaigns and ROI.
- Act as the main bridge between global marketing team and operations teams and drive weekly planning sessions ensuring all in-hostel activities are planned, on-brand and promoted.
- Identify gaps in existing offerings that have the potential to drive revenue and work with other departments to bring them to fruition.
- Ensure that all marketing resources are deployed to create an adequate return on investment and that all projects and initiatives support each other as part of the global strategy.
- To work positively and inspirationally as a team to drive curiosity and creativity of the company’s work.
- To create an extensive volume of high-quality content: written, photo and video for social media, as required.
- To aid in the planning of photo and video shoots & content creation within their region, to ensure that the hostels have a constant, evolving and updated range of press and social media content, in line with brand and company strategy.
- Maintain and drive the Creative Hub program to encourage retention of quality creators.
- To motivate, document, and promote CSR initiatives within the brand and externally.
- Assist in all necessary requirements for customer interfacing communication platforms including CRM, OTAs, POSM, Digital & Physical.
- Complete site audits in a professional manner.
- Create copy for campaigns and submit to marketing leads for approval.
- Deliver weekly, monthly, and quarterly target materials/quota.
- Prepare required reports for productivity and accountability to share with the marketing lead.
- Maximise and execute all relevant marketing initiatives in a timely and professional manner to secure targeted exposure of the hostel.
Pre and post opening:
- Work with Expanding Markets Manager to execute the detailed time-lined agenda actions for all new openings within an established market.
- Communicate pre and post-opening strategy and ensure execution and ROI of deliverables.
- Work with Expanding Markets Manager to deliver key items: press releases, media platform establishment, and PPT presentations for exposure purposes, along with the planning of all physical materials.
- Continue to implement strategic vision and drive growth of a property as it moves from its initial stages to a more established stage
Third party involvement:
- Maintain a professional reputation in the eyes of the media, the public, the owners, the guests and our team members positioning Mad Monkey in the domestic market in the best and most fulfilling light.
- Liaise with predefined and approved sponsorship and partnership opportunities, B to B.
- Drive sponsorship deals and collaborations.
- Coordinate with all marketing partners to ensure timely and accurate delivery of all marketing initiatives and collateral.
- Establish and maintain excellent relationships with the relevant media for all locations to help secure editorial coverage and engagement.
- Assist global team with the procurement of sponsors for events and activities
Financial Management:
- Track expenses ensuring alignment with budget in said regions.
- Drive performance through sales.
- Generally, be alert for opportunities to improve the profitability of the operation.
- Maintain up to date knowledge of marketing the hospitality sector, our customers and our competitors.
- Monitor present and future trends and practices to determine and ensure a leading and quality driven operation
- Proactively search for new ideas and practices that can enhance volume, raise standards and increase the quality of the operation
- Work with the Customer experience team to positively propose suggestions with the potential to increase revenue.
Human Resources and Training:
- Coach and support all team members in line with company standards.
- In conjunction with the Human Resources team, deliver creatives needed for highly effective recruitment.
- Ensure that the Standard Operating Practices and company standards are communicated to team members through needed materials for regular training sessions and audits.
- Be fully conversant with the Mad Monkey team member Handbook and abide by all principles.
