United Overseas Bank Limited (UOB) is a leading bank in Asia with a global network of more than 500 offices in 19 countries and territories in Asia Pacific, Europe and North America. In Asia, UOB operates through its head office in Singapore and banking subsidiaries in China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam, as well as branches and representative offices across the region.
UOB's relationship with Vietnam began in 1993. We started operations with a representative office comprising just three people and two years later, became the first Singapore bank to set up a branch in Ho Chi Minh City. On 6 August 2018, we achieved another milestone with the official opening of our subsidiary United Overseas Bank (Vietnam) Limited (“UOB Vietnam”) and kicked off a new chapter for UOB in the country. UOB Vietnam was the fifth subsidiary that UOB set up in Asia and expanded into a team of more than 1,300 colleagues after the acquisition of the consumer banking business of Citigroup in 2023, reflecting our continued confidence in the country. UOB now has a total of five branches in Ho Chi Minh city and Hanoi.
Today, UOB Vietnam offers a range of personal and institutional financial services to both Vietnamese and overseas clients. The Bank connects businesses to opportunities in the region with its unparalleled regional footprint and leverages data and insights to innovate and create personalised banking experiences and solutions catering to each customer’s unique needs and evolving preferences. UOB is also committed to help businesses forge a sustainable future, by fostering social inclusiveness, creating positive environmental impact and pursuing economic progress. UOB believes in being a responsible financial services provider and is steadfast in its support of art, social development of children and education, doing right by its communities and stakeholders.
'As a forward-looking and inclusive organisation that cares for our people and puts customers first, our vision is to be among the top foreign and consumer banks in Vietnam and an employer of choice.
