1/ Promote the school and IBO mission by- Acting with integrity, respect and care in all professional interactions with students, staff and parents.- Promoting characteristics of perseverance, enquiry, reflection and the elements of the IB Learner Profile with students.- Being a valued member of the team and organisation.2/ Support for Students- Work with individuals and small groups of students identified by Head of EAL/AE and 6th Form Team:- Provide support, mostly in Y10-Y13, that would range from consolidating basic EAL language skills at the clause and sentence level to developing academic writing skills at the paragraph and the whole essay level.- Develop students’ academic language to enable them to access the mainstream curriculum. - Support the EAL team with developing students’ Academic English in small-group sessions.- Organise support sessions to develop students academic English skills, with a particular focus on the IBDP Core, Individual Oral (IO) presentations, and Internal Assessments (IA) in Years 12 & 13.- In coordination with the Core team, provide support for the Extended Essay, following the guidelines afforded by the IBO, and under the guidance of the Extended Essay Co-ordinator and Department EE supervisors.- Provide support to Year 12 & 13 students for the Theory of Knowledge (TOK) exhibition and essay.- Provide support for students as they begin the university application process, especially in the areas of essay writing, personal statements and interview preparations.3/Support for Departments- Work with specific departments identified by Head of Department- To help develop teachers’ awareness of the academic English challenges faced by our students;- To provide support to departments to develop language resources that can be embedded into the curriculum of mainstream subjects- To support students in lessons to facilitate academic language development4/ Whole School Academic Language Development- Contribute to the development of Academic English at BIS:- Develop an ethos as to the development of academic language and the approach to be taken at BIS- Coordinate with department leaders on developing their curricula to address the academic language and literacy needs within their specific subject- Investigate and summarise research in the areas of academic language, and sharing that knowledge with other school teamsWorking hour: from Monday to Friday, from 7:30am to 4:00pmWorking address: Secondary Campus - 246 Nguyen Van Huong, An Khanh Ward, Ho Chi Minh City
