1. Assists in the routine function of Personnel Administration as well as employee welfare & benefit and all employee activities.
2. Provides a professional, advisory and executive support service to the General Manager to assist in meeting the strategic goals of the establishment.
3. Ensures that all new employees attend the Hotel Orientation program
4. Conducts training needs analysis of the hotel and departments.
5. Coordinates with Department Heads, develop departmental on the job training schedules that meet departmental operating objectives.
6. Designs, produces and implements training programs to meet specific department/hotel needs.
7. Establishes a training library of books, videos, journals and resources to assist trainer and employee development.
8. Prepares and administer the training calendar on a regular basis.
9. Ensures all employees receive ongoing training in Best Western International Training Programs.
10. Facilitates management training programs.
11. Sources and obtains specialist assistance to conduct training when needed.
12. Monitors all training activities conducted on and off site.
13. Evaluates training effectiveness by attending as many training sessions as possible.
14. Liaises with educational institutions conducting hospitality training courses.
15. Maintains an up to date record of suppliers of training resources.
16. Administer the training budget and purchase training materials as required.
17. Assists in the selection and appointment of new employees within the training department.
18. Participates in the Hotel “Manager on Duty” program.
19. Attends meetings as required.
20. Implements opportunities for quality Team Building.
21. Ensures that all employees comply with the grooming and uniform standards.
22. Ensures compliance with legislated health and safety requirements within the workplace.
23. Complies with all Corporate and Hotel Standards and Procedures.
24. Actively promotes a working environment, which cares for guests and employees alike.
25. Manages the administration of trainees and apprentices on the property.
