• To ensure the departmental budget is adhered to in terms of expenditure by monitoring and controlling cost.
• To ensure that departmental budget is adjusted to accommodate fluctuation hotel performance and that costs are controlled accordingly.
• To ensure all rules and regulations regarding safety at work are complied with at all times.
• To ensure maximum guest satisfaction through effective supervision and training of staff and by ensuring that engineering services are available at all times and carried out in accordance to residences standards.
• To liaise with the hotel’s or residences outside engineering contractors to ensure that work and standards stipulated in the contract are adhered to and that contractor's staff behaves in a manner fitting to the residence.
• To liaise with Resident Services and Housekeeping regarding anticipated guest check-ins, check-outs, room assignment, room status report etc.
• To conduct a minimum of one apartment inspection daily-back of house, public areas to ensure that maintenance of these areas in accordance with residence standards.
• To be responsible for engineering supplies by ensuring stocks are ordered and controlled and that an inventory of the same is kept and to be responsible for they're correct handling and storage in order to minimize loss or breakage.
• Set up preventive maintenance program for all work equipment.
• To plan and implement the residence rectification plans through liaison with Housekeeping and Resident Service.
• To ensure that guest recognition program operates effectively and all guest contact staff are familiar with names of in houseguests.
• To handle guest complaints referred by junior management and or other department in a manner, which ensures immediate guest satisfaction, and to keep a record of the same.
• Develop solution to day to day problems.
• To attend daily operation meetings and any other meetings requested by the management.
• To ensure that all employees report for duty punctually wearing the correct uniform and name tag.
• To build and efficient team of employees by taking an active interest in their welfare, safety and security, training and development.
• To ensure that all employees have a complete understanding of the residence policy and procedure in order that they may adhere to them.
• To plan and conduct training for new and existing employees, to report all activities to the Training Manager on a monthly basis and to keep accurate departmental record of all training conducted.
• To conduct employee appraisals as directed by The Human Resources Department.
• To interview all prospective employees and refer to Human Resources Department.
• To ensure that all department reports and correspondence are completed accurately and punctually.
• To follow correct procedures regarding the requisitioning and control of supplies.

• University qualifications; hotel management certificate or diploma or similar preferred
• Must be aggressive, strong negotiation skills & good problem solving skill
• Good English communication skills
• At least 5 year experience in the same position is required
