OVERVIEW OF POSITION:
The Cook is responsible for preparing light meals, snacks, instant dishes, and canapés, ensuring consistency, quality, and hygiene standards. The role supports the Chef de Partie in daily kitchen operations and requires flexibility to work shifts, including night shifts.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Duties may include but are not limited to:
- Cooking instant food, snacks, and canapés for service.
- Preparing ingredients and mise en place for kitchen operations.
- Assisting with kitchen organization, storage, and stock rotation.
- Supporting the team during peak service hours or special events.
- Reporting shortages, damages, or maintenance needs of kitchen equipment.
- Performing other tasks assigned by Chef de Partie or management.
KEY FUNCTIONS:
Food Preparation & Cooking
- Prepare and cook light meals, snacks, instant dishes, and canapés according to recipes and kitchen standards.
- Ensure proper portioning, taste, and presentation of all dishes.
- Assist Chef de Partie in mise en place and ingredient preparation.
Support Kitchen Operations
- Follow instructions from Chef de Partie regarding daily workflow and menu execution.
- Assist in setting up kitchen stations for service.
- Support during peak hours and special events as needed.
Hygiene & Food Safety Compliance
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of cooking and prep areas.
- Follow food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards strictly.
- Properly handle and store ingredients and finished dishes.
Inventory & Equipment Use
- Monitor ingredient usage and report shortages to Chef de Partie.
- Use kitchen equipment safely and maintain its cleanliness and functionality.
- Assist with stock rotation and basic inventory checks.
Teamwork & Communication
- Work closely with Chef de Partie to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
- Communicate effectively about prep, service, or stock issues.
- Cooperate with other kitchen staff to maintain efficiency.
Additional Duties
- Perform other tasks assigned by the Chef de Partie or F&B Leader.
- Assist in minor menu adjustments or special dish preparations as requested.
- Participate in maintaining a positive and professional kitchen environment.

QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:
- Previous experience as a Cook or in a similar culinary role.
- Knowledge of basic cooking techniques, food hygiene, and safety standards.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small team.
- Flexible to work shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Positive attitude, reliability, and strong work ethic.
