The DOSM works closely with the General Manager and Division Heads to determine appropriate sales strategies in all market segments towards maximizing the hotel revenues. He/she is also responsible for maximizing occupancy of MICE and events in order to optimise business opportunities. He/she will work directly with other divisions to maximise awareness and guests using other hotel facilities not limited to rooms, food and beverage outlets and the spa. The DOSM together with the DOS/ADOS creates lucrative sales targets and networks business relations to corporate and travel clients and will oversee and source key accounts. He/she has to observe the market, identity trends and monitor the main competitors.
• Works closely with and delegates direction and responsibilities to DOS/ADOS for daily management and performance of the sales team
• Preparation of the marketing, advertising, sales plans, programs and annual budget; maximises and manages the effective use of expenses within approved plans and budgets
• Direct and manage all group, transient, online and banquet sales activities to maximize revenue for the hotel
• Develop rates, group sales deployment strategies through review of competitive data, demand analysis and mix management
• Prepare, implement and compile data for the segment and individual sales targets, monthly reports, annual goals, sales and marketing budget, forecasts and other reports as directed/required
• Responsible for revenue, yield strategies, implementation, market performance and meeting budget, forecast, and optimal business mix targets
• Responsible for all digital and print collateral formulation, distribution and quality
• Strategies will include pricing, direct sales, market mix, marketing, and public relations
• Candidates will have a dynamic leadership style, possessing excellent communication and decision making skills and business acumen.

• High degree of commercial awareness and be able to understand links between sales and profit with excellent sales and negotiation skills.
• Good business sense and the ability to motivate and lead a team.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Hotel Administration, Hotel Management or equivalent

Experience
• 5 to 6 years experience in the sales and marketing or related professional area. And min three years experience in a senior sales role.
