As an EMD at FMP, you will be the first point of contact during a medical emergency. Your ability to communicate quickly, calmly, and clearly—especially in both English and Vietnamese—can directly impact outcomes for people in distress. You will receive and triage emergency and non-emergency calls, dispatch appropriate medical units, and provide pre-arrival instructions until help arrives. This position requires individuals who are calm under pressure, detail-oriented, and culturally sensitive. Language Proficiency• Fluent in English and Vietnamese—able to speak, read, and write professionally in both languages.• Ability to switch between languages during real-time calls with speed and clarity.Education & Certifications• High school diploma or equivalent required.• EMD Certification (IAED or equivalent) preferred. Candidates without certification must be willing to complete EMD training and become certified within [2] months of hire.• CPR Certification required or must be obtained within 30 days of hire. Available at FMP• Additional EMS or healthcare-related certifications are a plus.Experience• Previous experience in emergency dispatch, EMS call canter, ambulance services, or related field is highly desirable.• Call canter, customer service, or crisis line experience also considered.Technical Skills• Proficient with computers, dispatch software, and radio communication systems.• Fast and accurate typing (minimum 35 WPM).plus then must• Strong data entry and documentation skills.Soft Skills & Personality• Able to remain calm, composed, and professional in high-stress and emotionally charged situations.• Strong communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.• Empathy and emotional intelligence—able to provide reassurance and clear instruction to distressed callers.• Attention to detail, accuracy, and multi-tasking ability are essential.Availability• Must be flexible to work shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.• Willingness to work overtime when necessary, during emergencies or staff shortages.
