About the role:
We're searching for a senior engineering leader with a keen understanding of product development to lead an outstanding team of engineers as we scale for future expansion.
You'll create a team vision and an engineering roadmap to help the team deliver on several products and engineering projects. You will demonstrate ShopBack leadership ideals, contribute to our wonderful culture, and build strong relationships at all levels of the company.
Responsibilities:
- Be a role model of the ShopBack culture.
- Balance multiple businesses and product priorities to deliver maximal impact.
- Develop an engineering strategy that places our systems in a position to scale and innovate in the future.
- Build a team of top engineering talent that is high-performing, inclusive, and diverse.
- Form strong, trusted relationships with Product Managers, Engineering Leadership, and Business Stakeholders.
- Help your team grasp priorities and provide context to help them make better decisions by assisting them in understanding priorities and providing context.
- Drive success in a flat company with few processes and a strong focus on individual accountability.
- Understand the business and develop domain expertise in relevant functions.

Requirements:
- 5+ years of professional software development experience.
- 2+ years of experience leading an engineering team.
- A proven track record of developing high-performing teams capable of solving complex problems and delivering elegant, scalable solutions.
- Experience leading engineering teams and delving into technical details to assist the team in making decisions that result in efficient, flexible, scalable systems.
- Capability to attract, develop, and retain top engineering talent.
- Interactions with senior leadership require executive presence.
- You are an excellent communicator with exceptional listening skills and the ability to see the big picture and effectively communicate it at all levels.
- You successfully influence product direction as a thought partner to your business stakeholders. Product Managers actively seek out your ideas (PMs). You can take a conceptual idea and turn it into a test that is both feasible and meets business requirements.
