Freight Forwarding Procurement Expert

Key Responsibilities:• Collaborate with ocean carriers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and other service providers to negotiate rates, secure capacity, and ensure smooth execution of shipments.• Develop and maintain relationships with key clients, understanding their business requirements and providing tailored solutions to meet their logistics needs.• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including customs requirements, trade sanctions, and safety regulations, to minimize risk and ensure the legality of shipments.• Monitor and control costs associated with ocean freight operations, identifying opportunities for cost savings and optimizing transportation routes and modes.• Ensure service quality, on-time delivery, and cost efficiency, and take corrective actions as needed to address any issues or discrepancies.• Identify potential risks and vulnerabilities in the supply chain, such as port disruptions, vessel delays, or cargo damage, and develop contingency plans to mitigate these risks.• Stay informed about market trends, industry developments, and regulatory changes affecting ocean freight transportation, and provide insights and recommendations to senior management.
