Intermediate IT Infrastructure Specialist

Job Summary

• Managing and maintaining an organization's IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, hardware, and software systems.
• Ensure the smooth operation, security, and performance of the IT environment while providing technical support to employees and ensuring business continuity.
• Collaborates with the IT team and other stakeholders to implement and maintain effective IT solutions that meet the organization's needs.

Roles & Responsibilities

1. Network Administration:

• Configure, and maintain LAN, WAN, and wireless networks.
• Monitor network performance, troubleshoot connectivity issues, and implement necessary changes for optimal network performance.
• Ensure network security by implementing firewalls, VPNs, and other security measures.

2. Server Administration:

• Install, configure, and maintain server hardware and operating systems (Windows, Linux).
• Monitor server performance, conduct regular system updates, and manage user access and permissions.
• Implement and maintain virtualization technologies for efficient resource utilization.

3. Server Room Management:

• Manage server rooms operations, including power, cooling, and physical security.
• Manage and arrange server rooms facilities, ensure they are neat and tidy.

4. Data Protection:

• Ensure proper data backup procedures are in place and regularly tested.

5. IT Security:

• Implement and maintain security measures to safeguard the IT infrastructure against cybersecurity threats.
• Conduct regular vulnerability patching.
• Respond to security incidents and implement security best practices.

6. Hardware and Software Management:

• Procure and manage Infra hardware, including servers, and networking equipment.
• Install, configure, and maintain server software applications.
• Troubleshoot server hardware and software issues.

7. Level 2 Support and Document

• Provide technical support to end-users computing team.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, including network diagrams, system configurations, and standard operating procedures.

8. IT Projects:

• Collaborate with the IT team and other departments on Infra-related projects, such as system upgrades, software implementations, and infrastructure expansions.
