As a key player in the Engineering Software Product Management team under the Digital Design Solutions group, the Software Product Manager will be leading projects that provide engineered software solutions for the building industry. The qualified candidate will work with cross-functional teams to address customer needs and support our internal stakeholders. This person will act as a product owner for project Scrum teams and will be active in the conceptualization, planning, execution, and delivery of various software projects. The Software Product Manager will primarily focus on our flagship software, MiTek Structure, and other engineering-centric software solutions. This position will play a critical role in shaping and executing our strategy to deliver high quality and scalable engineering software solutions to customers.Although we are looking an experienced candidate to join our team, less experienced candidates with a strong engineering aptitude are encouraged to apply and may be considered for an entry-level position as an Associate Product Manager. Likewise, more qualified candidates may be considered for a Senior Product Manager role. Role, Responsibilities & Typical Activities
Set Direction: Help decide what features or tools should be built or improved in MiTek’s design software used in building construction.
Work with Others: Team up with other product managers and departments to plan and align software improvements with business goals and customer needs.
Write Clear Instructions: Write technical software specifications that comply with applicable building codes and design standards governing the design and specification of structural components (trusses, beams, joists, walls, posts, and connections) for residential, commercial, and agricultural buildings.
Support Teams: Provide guidance and training to internal teams so they understand new features and can support customers better.
Talk to Customers: Gather feedback and learn from users (internal and external) to ensure the software solves real problems and stays competitive.
Represent the User: Make sure the customer's needs are always considered when making product decisions.
Join the Team Workflow: Be an active part of development teams, helping plan and prioritize what should be worked on next.
Help with Priorities: Work with technical leaders to manage risks and decide which tasks are most important.
Coordinate Globally: Work with team members from around the world to make sure work is done on time and within budget.
Manage the To-Do List: Keep a clear list of upcoming tasks and make trade-offs between short-term needs and long-term goals.
Attend Evening Meetings: Join up to three evening meetings a week to coordinate with teams in the US and UK.
Fix Issues: Help resolve product problems by working with technical teams to find and communicate solutions.
Improve Processes: Follow and help improve the way the team works together.
Stay Up to Date: Keep an eye on trends and rules in building design and construction to ensure the software stays relevant.
Support Bigger Goals: Help with other team efforts when needed to support MiTek’s overall mission.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering (open to other engineering disciplines for strong candidates)
Strong understanding of structural design concepts, particularly metal truss systems (Coursework or academic projects related to structural systems, metal trusses, or construction are a plus.)
Experience in engineering design, product development, or related technical roles (Fresh graduates with strong academic records and demonstrated interest in software and digital tools are encouraged to apply).
Proven ability to translate technical requirements into software product features and prioritize them based on business value.
Excellent planning, communication, presentation, and collaboration skills.
Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and the ability to communicate in both technical and business terms. (English level C1 - CEFR or equivalent)
No prior software development experience is required; training will be provided to build knowledge in software lifecycle, product ownership, and Agile processes.
Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated leadership in driving product strategy, roadmap definition, and feature delivery for technical products.
Experience as a Product Owner in an Agile/Scrum software development environment.
Familiarity with international building codes and standards, with a strong emphasis on North American codes (e.g., IBC, NBC...).
