Role Overview:The Research Data and Information Management Officer at VinUniversity is responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive data management strategies across the university‘s research ecosystem. This role leads efforts to collect, organize, secure, analyze, and report on research data and metrics to support evidence-based decision making. The position ensures compliance with data protection regulations while maximizing the value of research information assets through effective database management, metrics tracking, and reporting systems that enhance the visibility and impact of VinUniversity‘s research activities.Key Responsibilities:1. Research Database Management• Manage all research databases, handling database maintenance activities across the university.• Design, develop, and maintain robust database systems to capture research outputs, projects, and performance metrics.• Implement data quality control procedures to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency.• Create and maintain research data repositories and knowledge management systems.• Establish protocols for data backup, recovery, and long-term archiving of research information.2. Data Compliance & Governance• Handle data compliance requirements, managing data management processes.• Develop and implement data governance frameworks aligned with national and international standards.• Ensure research data handling complies with privacy regulations and ethical requirements.• Create and enforce data management policies, including data sharing, access controls, and retention.• Conduct regular audits of data management practices across research units.3. Research Metrics Tracking• Manage research metrics tracking processes.• Identify, collect, and analyze key performance indicators for research activities.• Track citation metrics, publication impact, funding success rates, and other research performance measures.• Develop dashboards and visualization tools to present metrics to different stakeholders.• Benchmark VinUniversity‘s research performance against peer institutions.4. Research Reporting & Analytics• Prepare comprehensive research reports.• Generate regular reports on research productivity, impact, and outcomes for internal and external audiences.• Conduct advanced analytics to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities in research performance.• Produce customized reports for specific stakeholder needs including university leadership, funders, and partners.• Develop narrative interpretations of quantitative data to support strategic decision-making.5. Data Infrastructure Development• Lead the selection, implementation, and optimization of research information management systems.• Coordinate with IT services to ensure appropriate technical infrastructure for research data needs.• Integrate disparate data sources to create cohesive information ecosystems.• Evaluate and implement new tools and technologies for improved data management and analytics.• Ensure scalability of data systems to accommodate growing research activities.6.
