About the RoleSupport in setting strategic direction for costing to ensure the simplifying the costing process & getting costing transparency with supplier. He/she performs work and supports the Manager/Senior Manager with the clear objective of setting up transparent costing with vendor & support in costing SMV negotiations & validation process.What You'll DoImprove the cost through key levers product strategy, man machine ratio, factory efficiency, labor cost and material optimization with the aim to deliver product value to the consumer.Establish and continuously update SMV based library tools that enable transparent, fact-based costing with suppliersShould able to establish SMV validation process to make sure SMV used in Production are in aligned with SMV used at costing stageWork with suppliers to bring them on SMV based costing journey as well work with them in validating & aligning on the Cut to Pack SMVValidate Vendors Operation Bulletin & SMVEstablish an appropriate governance for cost validation through standardization, benchmarkingSupporting in creating factory level/country level cost competitive matrixExplore & develop new training tools and training materials for both Gap internal staffs & external vendors/factories.Continuously work with Vendors & ME team on improving cost through SMV reductionSupports and tracks key factory productivity metrics by working with Manufacturing Excellence team

Knowledge, skills & abilities:Strong knowledge of apparel manufacturingShould have strong understanding of Apparel constructions & he/she should be strong in SMV & must have a PMTS knowledge preferably certified in GSD.Ability to create reports, provide analysis and recommendations to improve productivity & efficiencyCommunication skills– both written and verbal –EnglishStrong negotiations & Driving results skill, risk management and trouble shooting skills; works proactively.Ability to influence all levels internal & external supplier management.Planning, scheduling, and reporting strengthsMinimum educational and experienceUniversity graduate or degree in Industrial Engineering or Textile or Garment (Industry related) or equivalent work experience6-8 years business of experience in Industrial Engineering or in managing end to end costing function.
