BASIC FUNCTION:
The Market Analyst is to assist with the overall data analysis and overseeing OTA to manage its performance with the market insight, and also to forecast production, selling strategy, packages and handle OTA booking status. Utilize Marriott tools and technology as well as co-ordinate the overall data system functions including both OTA and Sales.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
General
• To have a complete knowledge of the Hotel’s products, including room types, rates, relative features and facilities, food and beverage outlets, spa and health clubs.
• Keeping up to date on all promotions.
• Be fully aware at all times of the OTA forecast, selling strategies, packages, and booking status at the Hotel.
• Assist in preparation of pricing documents prior to RFP season (corporate value analysis) and wholesale contracting season for room pricing, to include competitor analysis, market segment performance and room type analysis.
Management Systems, Tools, Data Entry and Reporting
• To coordinate and assist to manage the rate loading and status for the hotel and third party extranets as instructed by the DOSM/ADOSM.
• To update and distribute all rate structures and rate information for the hotel. This includes new rates, amendments, packages and promotions.
• Extract and send out daily pick up report, reservation and cancellation report.
• Update the RFP account with the rate submission in MarRFP tool.
• Conduct daily checks of the hotel’s display across all e-channels, including content, photos, rates, and packages, ensuring that all information is accurate and up to date.
• Check rate parity across OTAs and the hotel’s website, addressing any discrepancies and disputing them when necessary.
• Oversee the OTAs' extranet and maintain communication with the Market Manager to manage OTA performance, guest insights, and market insights.
• Extract the daily OTAs pick-up report
• Address issues related to guest/OTA extranets/system when they incur.
• To input and process the forecast reports, which include the forecast template documents, daily occupancy reports, pick up by market segment report, report for competitive data and daily occupancy report for the next 3 months.
• Assist in the preparation of month-end reports, including circulation of CMD and GEO source data, monthly analysis for all segments (analysis on performance on top 15 acts etc), Hotelligence report comments (performance against other hotels, any new accounts listed as potential for sales follow up)
• To input and update the daily on the books market segment pick up report.
• Assist to prepare statistics as required for promotions, booking trends, and competitor analysis.
• Assist in the preparation of the Rooms Budgets, including corporate, wholesale and retail analysis documents.
• Update and submit the RFP account rate submission in MarRFP system tool.
• Update the MarRFP status report, Guest Voice meeting slides, and Peak slides on a weekly basis.
• Manage the updating of monthly account production for corporate, wholesale, and OTA .
• Prepare and update OTA reports for finance and report for the tourism department.
• Performs frequently competitive check
• Conduct weekly/monthly checks on the hotel's setting and policy.
Inter-Departmental
• Understand how the Reservation Office, Sales Department and Front Office relate to Revenue Management.
• Liaise with other departments in a helpful, friendly and courteous manner.
• Attend training sessions and meetings as required.

- 1-2 year experience in Hospitality, especially in revenue and sales OTA
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Outstanding problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently.
- Adaptable to change and fast-acting.
- Good English, computer skills
- Have experience with Opera system
