Senior MICE & Events Manager functions as a senior leader of the Event’s Team, participated in the development and implementation of departmental strategies.
The position works closely with proactive Team to ensure smooth transition for all confirmed groups and events. The selected candidate must be able to provide excellent logistics and planning for all assigned groups & events.
They also need to work closely with leaders of F&B and Culinary operation to meet the brand's positioning, ensures customer satisfaction, and focuses on growing revenues and maximizing the financial performance of the department including Group Room revenue, Restaurants/Bars, Room Service and Banquets/Catering, where applicable.
Duties and responsibilities Financial returns:
• Has a broad knowledge of how the business is run, focuses on the major factors necessary to ensure that the business is successful and profitable
• Establish and interpret key performance indicators to manage the department, consistently takes into accounts financial implications of business decisions and recommendations
• Educate, train and motivate the teams to achieve department and hotel revenue goals. Ensure staff has the information, datas, tools and equipment to successfully carry out job duties
• Be responsible for your department P&L
• Support Department Head to produce, implement and monitor action plans to ensure Revenue Plan objectives are achieved
• Analyses current and potential markets/trends, coordinates all activities to maintain and increase revenue through added business volume and increased rate
• Sell all facets of the hotel
• Monitors existing business and inputs into sales strategy meetings to maximize business
• Grows existing business and establishes and pursues leads which will develop business
People:
• Perform/ behave as per IHG Winning Ways and IHG leadership competencies
• Become familiar with the InterContinental Danang Resort employee handbook and Collective Labour Agreement (KKB), follow the rules of the agreement.
• Manage day-to-day activities, plan and assign work, and establish performance and development goals for team members. Provide mentoring, coaching and regular feedback to help manage conflict, improve team member performance, and recognise good performance.
• Lead by example, promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with key department heads.
• Works with Human Resources on manpower planning and management needs
• Be responsible in keeping our property safe and secure, to participate in any hotel activity related to Fire Life safety.
• Perform any other duties which may be assigned by the management from time to time.
• Be always impeccably groomed to represent the Hotel in a professional manner.
Guest experience:
• Perform Brand’s Services behaviours in daily operation basic towards the guests
• Drive to deliver Luxury Experiences to guests, to achieve Heartbeat target
• Develop and update department SOPs (standard Operation Procedure), JD (Job description) and implement it to enhance the guest experience
• Liaise with MICE PCOs, PEOs and Government bodies.
• Interact with potential clients and industry trade representatives of competitive hotels.
• Respond to all Banquet requests within 48 hours.
• Follow up business under negotiation as well as take care of confirmed business.
• Be able to conduct an intensive Hotel site inspection and join any hosted function as directed by the Management.
• Maintains close liaison with Regional/ Corporate Sales teams and those of other IHG hotels to ensure the hotel receives proper corporate consideration, direction and support
• Meets with guests from major producers/organizers of big events staying in the hotel to ensure customer satisfaction
• Sell and promote hotel in all aspects, with emphasis on Corporate and all Meeting, Incentive, Conference & Exhibition.
• Entertain potential accounts as per Management requirements.

• Recommended changes to these standards
• Refers sales leads to appropriate personnel within the InterContinental Hotels Group
• Monitors existing business and inputs into sales strategy meetings to maximize business
• Grows existing business and establishes and pursues leads which will develop business
• Assesses sales and marketing data
• Assists with the preparation of new products and services
• Assists in the evaluation of sales and marketing activities
• Analyses sales mix and likely impact on hotel goals
• Maintains contact with planners, corporate accounts, incentive buyers, through personal sales calls, telephone contacts and written communications
• Creates and implements special programmes to achieve greater productivity through:
Increasing average rate
Increasing occupancy
Increasing business volume during difficult periods
Increasing local food and beverage banqueting sales
Oversees the selling and servicing of group business
• Be responsible in keeping our property safe and secure, to participate in any hotel activity related to Fire Life safety.
• Occupational Health and Safety Responsibilities:
Demonstrate Awareness of OH&S policies and procedures and ensure all procedures are conducted safely and within OH&S guidelines.
Be aware of duty of care and adhere to occupational, health and safety legislation, policies and procedures. o Be familiar with property, first aid and fire and emergency procedures and operate equipment safely and sensibly.
Initiate action to correct a hazardous situation and notify supervisors of potential dangers.
Log security incidents and accidents in accordance with resort requirement
• Perform any other duties which may be assigned by the management from time to time.

Qualifications and requirements
Required skills:
Demonstrated ability to interact with customers, employees and third parties that reflects highly on the hotel, the brand and the Company.
Problem solving, reasoning, motivating, organizational and training abilities.
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office
Good writing skills
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Sales & Marketing, Hotel Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
Experience: 2 years related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
