Key Objective of Role The role is responsible for leading and managing the engineering department, ensuring the efficient design and execution of pre-engineered buildings (PEB). The role involves overseeing structural design, coordinating with other departments, ensuring compliance with international and local building codes, and optimizing engineering processes for quality and cost-effectiveness. Key Responsibilities Engineering Leadership & Management: • Engineer Leadership & Management • Lead and supervise the engineering team, including structural engineers, detailers, and drafters. • Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and performance management for engineering staff. • Plan, allocate, and review engineering work to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to timelines. Structural Design & Analysis: • Oversee the structural analysis, design, and detailing of PEB structures. • Ensure all designs comply with applicable standards (AISC, AISI, MBMA, ASTM, IS, BS, Eurocodes, etc.). • Optimize designs for cost efficiency while maintaining structural integrity and safety. • Review and approve engineering calculations, drawings, and connection designs. Coordination & Cross-Functional Collaboration: • Work closely with sales, estimation, procurement, and production teams to ensure seamless project execution. • Coordinate with clients, architects, and consultants to understand project requirements and provide technical solutions. • Collaborate with project managers to resolve site issues and ensure smooth project implementation. Quality Assurance & Compliance: • Develop and enforce engineering standards, design guidelines, and best practices. • Conduct periodic reviews and audits of engineering work to ensure high-quality deliverables. • Ensure compliance with local and international building codes, safety regulations, and client specifications. Process Improvement & Innovation: • Identify and implement improvements in engineering processes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs. • Stay updated with the latest industry trends, tools, and technologies in PEB engineering. Promote the adoption of advanced software for design, detailing, and project management. Cost Management & Optimization: • Review material selection, design efficiency, and fabrication feasibility to minimize project costs. • Work with procurement and production teams to ensure material optimization and reduce waste. • Assist in value engineering initiatives to enhance profitability. Training & Development: • Conduct regular training sessions for the engineering team to enhance skills and technical competencies. • Develop a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and professional growth within the department.
