You will have opportunities to design backend components and services. Not only will you get to collaborate with the product, business, and program management teams to be on top of your deliverables, but you will also serve as a mentor to your teammates to help meet the teams' deliverables and goals. You will report to the Engineering Manager. You will be based in HCMC, and you will work in the office.Architect, design, and build scalable backend systems using microservices architecture.The Critical Tasks You Will PerformScope technical requirements and identify suitable technology solutions for new initiatives.Integrate new systems with existing platforms and ensure interoperability across services.Serve as a technical leader, providing guidance and mentorship to less experienced engineers; set high bars for code/design quality and operational excellence.Collaborate with technical leads from other teams to ensure cohesive system integration across domains.Lead and influence hiring decisions and foster an inclusive team culture.Define the technical strategy and lead end‑to‑end execution for backend services that enable one‑way outbound communications across owned and external channels, meeting reliability, latency, and scalability SLAs at Grab scale.Drive platform observability: instrument per‑channel delivery, open, conversion, latency, and error metrics; build dashboards and client‑visible ROI views; enable proactive detection of issues and compliance.Lead governance for time‑sensitive notifications by implementing expiry, grouping, deduplication, and policy adherence to improve user experience and reduce opt‑outs.Improve messaging cost visibility and control (including vendor traffic allocation via data‑driven experimentation) in collaboration with procurement and partner teams.Own service design, architecture reviews, API/interface contracts, and non‑functional requirements (reliability, performance, security, operability); raise the bar on coding standards, testing, and release strategy.Increase platform productivity and reduce operational toil by improving release strategies, on‑call readiness, and incident response practices.
