• Be responsible for saving hotel asset/ energy/ water/ chemical and propose the saving ideas to management.
• Understand departments and hotel’s product, and upsell to the guest, or recommend hotel products to the guest.
• Report Lost and Found immediately to Security.
• Be responsible in keeping our property safe and secure.
• Preserve ingredients and food in good conditions in order to keep cost in line.
• Monitor food and operating costs and controls these by reducing waste.
People:
• Perform/ behave as per IHG Winning Ways to other colleagues within your department and toward other departments
• Perform/ behave as per IHG leadership competencies
• Work with Superior and Human Resources on manpower planning and management needs
• Identify training need, propose training plan, and conduct the training
• Conduct shift briefings, department meeting to ensure hotel activities and operational requirements are known
• Observe staff’s performance, give constructive feedback when need it.
• Coach and develop staff
• Work with Superior and Human Resources on disciplinary action for poor performance or any conflict among staff
• Able to help other section within Repair & Maintenance whenever required by the supervisors.

Guest experience:

• Implement and carry out maintenance program in accordance with established timeframes
• Assist with the implementation of the resort’s preventative maintenance system and repair log system
• Attend to all types of repair and maintenance work in the resort premises, including any new additions / extensions to the Resort or any other properties.
• Ensure that appropriate files are maintained and resources kept for future reference
• Complete daily reports outlining work undertaken for the day.
• Under-takes repairs and maintenance of kitchen Equipment and maintain when required.
• Maintain proper condition of all equipment and work areas
• Understand & follow the Escap Work Order System and Preventative Maintenance System
• Be aware of the Resorts Environmental Program and carry out duties in your day to day job tasks bearing this in mind.
• General building minor maintenance repairs.
• Assist the Assistant Chief Engineer/Chief Engineer to set up the Preventive Maintenance System and run same.
• Shift inspection and rectification.
• Complete work orders as requested by the Chief Engineer/Assistant Chief Engineer to meet customer requirements.
• Demonstrate flexibility in changing the work schedule in line of guest priorities.
• Carry pager and respond to requests from other departments regarding minor maintenance issues throughout the day.
• Conduct lighting checks to ensure all lightings are in working order.

Required Skills
- Communication skills are utilized a significant amount of time when interacting with others; demonstrated ability to interact with customers, employees and third parties that reflects highly on the hotel, the brand and the Company.
- Able to speak, read and write English
- Good communication and writing skills
- Proficient in computer operation.
- Problem solving, reasoning, motivating, organizational and training abilities
Qualifications
• Certificate from Technical school or similar capacity
• Some knowledge in English
Experience
• At least 2 years experience preferably in a hotel of similar size and complexity and including supervisory experience or training.
• Prefer experience in similar capacity
