What’s the Job?
As a Shift Engineer / Technician at Rêve HCMC, you’ll be part of the team responsible for keeping our hotel operating safely, efficiently, and beautifully. From preventive maintenance to quick problem-solving, your technical expertise ensures every guest enjoys comfort, safety, and seamless experiences.
You’ll help manage the daily engineering operations, monitor energy efficiency, and perform repairs or maintenance tasks across guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house — always in line with IHG standards and Rêve’s high expectations for quality and detail.
Your Day to Day
Operations & Maintenance
Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs across all hotel systems, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, refrigeration, and mechanical equipment.
Monitor the performance of building systems and equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations.
Conduct regular inspections of guestrooms, public areas, and back-of-house to identify maintenance needs.
Respond promptly to maintenance requests and guest repair calls, ensuring quick and effective solutions.
Assist in preventive maintenance programs to minimize equipment downtime and extend asset life.
Maintain all tools, work areas, and equipment in a clean, organized, and safe condition.
Support the Engineering team during emergencies such as power failures, leaks, or system malfunctions.
Energy & Efficiency
Monitor and control energy usage for electricity, water, gas, and HVAC systems.
Support sustainability initiatives by implementing energy-saving practices and reducing waste.
Ensure all systems operate at optimal efficiency in accordance with IHG’s “Journey to Tomorrow” commitments.
Guest Experience
Handle guest maintenance issues with professionalism, ensuring minimal disruption and complete satisfaction.
Provide courteous and prompt service to all guest inquiries or concerns related to facilities.
Maintain guest room safety and comfort through attention to detail and preventive action.
Team & Coordination
Participate in daily shift briefings and communicate maintenance updates to the Engineering and Front Office teams.
Assign or follow up on work orders based on operational priorities.
Support new team members through knowledge sharing and hands-on guidance.
Collaborate closely with other departments to ensure smooth operations and timely repairs.
Safety & Responsible Business
Follow all safety, security, and emergency procedures, including proper use of protective equipment.
Maintain compliance with local regulations and IHG safety standards.
Ensuretools, materials, and hazardous substances are used and stored safely.
Report all safety or maintenance incidents to the Engineering leadership immediately.
Accountability
You will support the Engineering team to maintain all areas of the hotel — ensuring smooth daily operation, minimal downtime, and consistent guest satisfaction. You’ll work independently during your shift while supporting the Chief Engineer and the overall engineering operation.
Yêu Cầu Công Việc
Vocational Certificate or Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Air Conditioning & Refrigeration.
1–3 years of relevant experience in a similar role within a hotel or facility maintenance environment.
Strong knowledge of building systems, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing.
Hands-on problem-solving skills with attention to safety and quality.
Basic computer literacy for maintenance systems and work orders.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Pre-opening hotel experience is a plus.
