The Commercial Manager is responsible for overseeing the business activities and developing strategies to improve sales and profitability. They will be responsible for managing client relations, negotiating contracts, and developing marketing campaigns. This job description template outlines the key responsibilities and skills required for a successful Commercial Manager.Key Accountabilities:- Identify and develop long term mutually beneficial relationships with key stakeholders and customers.- Enhance BLA’s reputation as a leading freight solutions provider in the country and across the region.- Improve sales and service efficiencies across the commercial teams in collaboration with the respective management stakeholders.- Implementation and monitoring of the sales incentive program (SIP) in conjunction with management.Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement clear business plans/strategies in conjunction with the management to achieve the company targets.- Identify and utilize the synergies that exist across all BLA Products and services,- Conducts regular sales calls for assigned area/specificalty to monitor client’s needs and requirements.- Anticipates business opportunities to identify requirements for new business especially in areas where BLA Services area required.- Arranging planned sales presentations to new and potential clients.- Developing and exchanging sales leads with other BLA Offices.- Preparation of customer quotations.- Monitoring of competitors’ activities and pricing structures through periodicals, business updates and client feedback to protect BLA clients and identify areas where the company can enhance better quality service.- Conducts cost comparison studies to evaluate BLA service against competitors.- Maintain volume fluctuation of clients and recovering lost accounts.- Providing regular reporting to the management as directed.- Plan, drive and review the team’s performance to utilize contacts, networks and market knowledge to create awareness of BLA’s services and to create and win new business opportunities.- Set and review performance targets together with the management.- Supervise and guide the Account Executives of the team. Monitors the performance of Account Executives and ensures that set targets are being achieved.- Manage the preparation of tenders and bids, together with management, for prospective and existing customers.- Manage and coordinate communication within the team.- All other tasks that may be assigned by Management.

- Experience as Sales Manager in ocean freight or a related logistics role. - Experience working with internal stakeholders and sales teams- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field- Strong coordination and communication skills to liaise with internal and regional teams. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint- Self-motivated, ability to work independently with initiative, self-organiser- Strong commitment to delivering excellence with strong focus on customer centric service excellence- Flexibility to travel nationally and internationally as required
