Job summary The Junior Educational System Specialist plays a support role in our school organization, responsible for ensuring the performance, integrity, security, and synchronization of all educational data systems. This role also involves planning and deploying new Education Technology systems and providing technical support to end users. Essential duties and responsibilities As the Junior Educational Systems Specialist, you will perform the following activities with the aim of achieving specific end results:
Database Management:Support in the management, maintenance and support of our collection of SQL-based databases, including MS SQL, MySQL/MariaDB, Postgres, Oracle, Json, and ODBC.
Database Synchronization:Update and synchronize external databases, such as Naviance, LMS, OPAC, MAP, and WRAP, as required to maintain data accuracy and consistency.
User Training:Conduct training sessions for users at all levels to enhance their proficiency in using PowerSchool and related products effectively.
Documentation:Prepare comprehensive documentation on the usage of PowerSchool and related products, ensuring that users have a valuable reference resource.
Stay Current with Technology:Stay abreast of the latest developments in database technology, web frameworks, and API technology to ensure we remain technologically competitive.
Training and Skill Enhancement:Proactively undergo training to continually improve technical skills and stay up-to-date with industry best practices.
Education Technology Systems Management:Integrate, administer, manage, and maintain all Education Technology Systems, including PowerSchool, Learning Management System(s), ICMEC, Hapara and SeeSaw.
School SystemsIntegrate, administer, manage, maintain and support School Systems, including ClassLink, Clever, GG4L, Schoosbuddy, CPOMS, Resonant, Finalsite and MagnusHealth
Collaboration with IT and Education Technology Directors:Collaborate with the IT and Education Technology Directors to establish goals and objectives aimed at enhancing the quality of service provided by the IT department.
Participation in Technology Meetings:Attend technology department meetings as requested to contribute insights and updates regarding database and systems-related matters.
Ad Hoc Duties:Undertake any other duties assigned by the Technology and Education Technology Directors to support the school's technology objectives.
