Director of Sales is the strategic commercial leader responsible for maximizing the hotel's total revenue from rooms, banquets, and catering. This role develops and executes the overarching sales strategy, leads and mentors the entire sales team, and drives market penetration across all segments. The Director of Sales sets the commercial vision, establishes key performance targets, and fosters high-level relationships to secure the hotel's financial success and market leadership.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Leadership & Revenue Management
Develop, implement, and own the annual Sales & Marketing Business Plan and budget, aligned with the hotel's financial goals.
Analyze market trends, competitor activity, and demand generators to identify new opportunities and formulate proactive sales strategies.
Set ambitious yet achievable revenue targets for rooms, events, and food & beverage across all market segments (Corporate, MICE, Leisure, Government, etc.).
Collaborate closely with related departments to develop pricing, inventory, and distribution strategies that maximize yield and profitability.
2. Team Leadership & Business Development
Lead, recruit, mentor, and motivate the entire sales team, fostering a high-performance culture of accountability and excellence.
Directly manage and coach Sales Managers, setting individual goals and driving team performance to exceed targets.
Personally manage and nurture relationships with the hotel's top key accounts, high-value clients, and strategic partners.
Represent the hotel at major industry events, trade shows, and sales missions to enhance brand visibility and generate leads.
3. Sales Operations & Process Excellence
Oversee the efficient operation of the Sales Department and Reservations team, ensuring seamless lead management from inquiry to conversion.
Implement and optimize the use of the CRM (e.g., Salesforce, Opera SFA) for pipeline management, forecasting, and reporting accuracy.
Establish and monitor key sales performance indicators (KPIs), providing regular, insightful reports to General Manager and ownership.
Ensure all sales activities, contracts, and client communications adhere to brand standards and legal requirements.
4. Cross-Departmental Collaboration
Act as the key commercial liaison between the sales team and operational departments (Front Office, F&B, Finance) to ensure flawless execution of booked business and exceptional client experiences.
Work in tandem with Marketing Manager to ensure sales strategies are supported by effective marketing campaigns and collateral.
Yêu Cầu Công Việc
Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive sales experience in the hospitality industry, with at least 5 years in a senior sales leadership role (Director of Sales, Director of Sales & Marketing, or Cluster Sales Director) within a 4/5-star hotel environment.
Proven track record of consistently exceeding revenue targets and successfully developing and executing comprehensive sales strategies.
Exceptional leadership and people management skills, with a demonstrated ability to build, inspire, and develop high-performing teams.
Strong financial and analytical acumen, with expertise in budgeting, forecasting, and market analysis.
Established network of contacts within key market segments (Corporate, MICE, etc.) in Vietnam and/or the region.
Outstanding communication, negotiation, and presentation skills. Fluency in English and Vietnamese is required.
