Overall purpose of the job:
Responsible for leading, influencing, inspiring and coaching Area Managers and their teams on store operations for the purpose of maximizing sales and profits, and maintaining consistently smooth operations of all L’Usine stores. The OM plans and executes financial goals and brand strategies. Organizes and activates special projects. Develops talents and grows the organization.
Key Result Areas (Goals)
1. Financial Management
- Discusses, prepares, and submits for review P&L scenarios for budget purposes. Collates total stores P&L assumptions and data from the Area Managers.
- Provides inputs in the analysis of last year’s actual financial records versus budget to prepare current budget and strategies.
- Aligns, plans, reviews and disseminates to Area Managers the financial Goals for the year.
- Work with Marketing to develop and implement marketing activities and campaigns targeted at brand awareness, LSM and LRM
- Disseminates and discusses approved plans to Area Managers
- Provides solution for any deviation arising on the plan and discusses with line manager
- Utilizes financial tools and analyzes financial reports to identify and address trends and issues in group’s performance. Coaches Area Managers in recognizing and influencing their business by understanding financial reports and coming up with the appropriate action plans.
- Reviews and monitors implementation of corrective action plans.
- Ensures that all productivity numbers, sales and budgets are consistently met by all stores
2. Operation Management
- Analyzes, monitors and drives achievement of operations targets.
- Ensures strict compliance to standard operating procedures and audit requirements
• Reviews, monitors and ensures corrective action plans are implemented
- Ensures that overall restaurant operations are managed effectively and efficiently.
• Approves and monitors solutions to the deviations
• Reviews and approves recommended control measures
• Elevates high level deviations with recommendations to line manager
• Approves store design and layout for the new stores (Must & Wants) upon consultation with line manager
- Uses knowledge and experience in restaurant / retail, or other related industries, to determine and recommend appropriate systems such as service, production, labor, etc.
- Ensures that programs are aligned to brand vision, mission and values
- Drives compliance to branding standards
- Maintains and promotes the company’s culture, values and reputation in its target markets and among all restaurant employees, customers, suppliers and other stakeholders
3. People Management
- Leads and champions values, culture and vision achievement.
- Implements effective succession planning, people management and development, and retention strategies for operations department in L’Usine
- Ensures effectiveness and continuous development of Area Managers and store management team.
- Directly reviews the performance of Area Managers Reviews and assess competency gaps of direct reports based on approved budget
• Recommends and Determines interventions required for technical, management skills & training
• Provides coaching & mentoring to Area Managers in the preparation of operations strategies on sales, profitability, people effectiveness and development, and quality management in accordance to overall direction of the company.
• Identifies potential successor and determine developmental plans of direct reports
- Reviews, recommends and monitors effectiveness of the developmental programs and submits a report to line manager on the effectiveness on the intervention implemented.
- Reviews and recommends unbudgeted interventions cost to improve performance
- Employee Programs
• Recommends employee program in consultation with line manager
- Employee Relations
• Oversees strict compliance of employees to company policy and procedures and code of conduct
• Implements disciplinary action processes based on policies and protocol
- Prepares and discusses the performance appraisals of direct reports
4. Relationship Management
- Manages the relationship with partners and other stakeholders to improve business performance.
5. Project Management
- Works and coordinates with various departments/units in creating a project plan specific to mobilizing group initiatives.
- Monitors planning, construction, opening and performance of new stores in the group.
- Effectively communicates project expectations to project team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
- Liaise with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis.
- Monitors implementation of activities; links with concerned units for support and resolution of issues.
- Used project management tools and techniques to implement and monitor the project plan
6. Others
- Monitors and submits regular reports
- Coaches and assists Area Managers in handling customer complaints
